The Duchenne Dash
Cycle from London to Paris in just 24 hours whilst raising vital donations to help Duchenne UK find effective treatments for DMD.
The Duchenne Dash is Duchenne UK’s annual signature cycling event. Over the past 12 years, the Dash has grown into our biggest and most challenging fundraising event of the year and has raised more than £7.3 million for DMD research.
Since Richard Parton became involved with the Dash in 2017, he has bought a team with him each year. He has introduced 65 people to the Dash and between them they have cycled thousands of miles and raised tons of money to help end Duchenne. Richard has also provided support from LXA for the Dash for free.

What is Duchenne?
Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a genetic disease that causes muscle weakness and wasting. It is the most common and severe form of muscular dystrophy.
It is caused by a fault, known as a mutation, on the dystrophin gene. Dystrophin is a protein that protects muscles; without it, muscles are easily damaged, and their strength and function is weakened. It eventually affects all the muscles in the body, including the heart and lungs.
DMD almost always affects boys. It is typically diagnosed in childhood between the age of three and six.
