Autumn is well and truly upon us. The balmy days of summer are but a distant memory and thoughts of tinsel and turkey are not too far away. The seasons may have changed, but it doesn’t mean that having fun on Bluetooth RIB is off the agenda.

During the winter season, we offer half-day, 4-hour charters. Need a little longer? Depending on sunset we can extend this out to 5 or 6 hours. Get in touch to start planning your day.

Here are our top tips –

Before you arrive on Bluetooth RIB

During the week of your charter, keep an eye on the weather and we’ll be doing the same. As with our summer charters, if the winds are high and it’s likely to be unsafe we’ll be in touch to change the date. If the weather looks like rain all day, we’ll chat it through with you. We want you to have a great time enjoying the Solent – for some the risk of a shower or two adds to the fun of the day.

Book your lunch stop. Some of the Solent restaurants close over the winter months. Giving them a chance for a break, refresh and lick of paint before it gets busy next year. That doesn’t mean to say there isn’t plenty of choices available to tempt your palate and warm your cockles during your charter.

Get your timings right. With darkness falling early afternoon, Bluetooth will need to be back at Hamble Point before it gets dark. Don’t set off late and feel rushed.

Dress appropriately and layer up! If you’ve wet weather gear then now is the time to be wearing it. Warm socks, decent shoes, gloves and a hat will be perfect for keeping your extremities nice and toasty. If you’ve got a thermal cup or flask, bring along a coffee, hot chocolate or warming soup.

On the day of your autumn-winter charter

Where are you planning on visiting? If you are looking to pick up some gifts whilst out on the water you’ll find some great independent shops in Cowes and Yarmouth. If larger shops are what you desire take a visit to Gunwharf Quays and moor at their marina. Not sure where to visit? Click here for some inspiration.

Solent Water is likely to be nice and clear for you to traverse during your trip. If you are out at the weekend you’ll be in the company of hardy sailors taking part in Winter Series events up and down the Solent.

Have fun!
